Vinted Members Share Displeasure About Size Modifications
Vinted users have been reacting angrily after an update resulted in items being listed as the wrong size.
This online marketplace has revised its sizing categories for women's and children's clothes without notifying all shoppers about the modification.
Digital Channels Response
Numerous buyers and vendors have taken to social media saying Vinted listings now show a modified sizing category than originally posted as a result of the reclassification.
The platform stated the updated approach better aligns with comparable marketplaces.
They have suggested members to review their products and manually change the size if necessary, causing user dissatisfaction.
Sizing System Changes
Earlier, the measurements included a single numeric size and a letter, for instance S/8 or M/10.
The updated approach includes a letter with a size spectrum such as S/UK 8-10.
In some cases, the size labels have been reassigned - like an L measurement used to be a 12 but is now a UK 16-18.
User Experiences
Frankie Bridger, who creates plus-size fashion videos, stated the update "complicates both purchasing and selling".
"Not many brands say XL is a 20-22," as the platform currently indicates.
Another user, based in Glasgow, stated items she posted featuring size 14 markings were showing in the marketplace as measurements 20-22.
"If anyone [who is] size 20-22 buys them they will likely be quite upset," she stated.
Necessary Adjustments
Charlotte Lunn, located in England, said she had been left angered because the modification necessitated personal updates the measurements for "each individual item".
"Personally, this is quite irritating, because of my ongoing medical condition and selling on Vinted has been paramount for me since losing part of my income," she stated.
Service Background
The app has more than 100 million shoppers, with 18 million British users.
It has proved a popular alternative to second-hand platforms like eBay and Depop.
This is not the initial instance that an unexpected update on the platform has faced criticism: last year, the service retracted a modification regarding delivery choices after backlash from users.
